Raiders Year in Review – Joel Thompson

With the long off-season now upon us we’re going to take time to look at the Raiders players and see what sort of season you think they’ve had.

At the bottom of each section we’re encouraging fans to put down what they think the best moment was for each player and wish them good luck for the off-season.

Thompson has developed into a hard running centre in 2011 and his partnership with Blake Ferguson on the right hand side of the field has become the Raiders most potent attacking combination.

A tough defender who never backs down from a challenge, Thompson pulled off one of the hits of the year at Canberra Stadium, when he flattened Melbourne Storm utility Rory Kostjasyn.

His hard work and solid performances earned him two representative jerseys in 2011, with his second start in the Indigenous All-Stars team and his first starting jersey for the Country Origin team in their win over City in Albury.

2012 will be an interesting year for the young Raider, with a shift to second row a possibility if the Raiders can find someone to fill the void at right centre.
