Raiders program could get green light with new fundsThe Canberra Raiders are exploring options to fund their own television program in the wake of the game's one billion dollar broadcasting deal.
Raiders chief executive Don Furner said the club would also look to enhance its development programs in the region and was preparing a business model to take advantage of the new Thursday night and Sunday evening time slots that would be trialled next year.
Furner said the Raiders had already been in discussions with WIN Television about the potential for a half-hour Raiders program to air on one of Channel Nine's supplementary digital channels.
''They're offering clubs every week, if they put their own package together, that they'll air it,'' Furner said. ''Obviously you need money for the production of the program but as part of the whole bigger grants we'll get, we'll have that funding available.
