Raiders star signs Japan rugby contract ... but wants to play NRL in 2020

Canberra’s grand final winger Jordan Rapana has confirmed an off-season switch to rugby union, but remains hopeful of returning to the NRL in season 2020.Rapana, 30, has signed a deal with Japanese club Panasonic Wild Knights and is expected to join them ahead of the first game in January.

The Japanese Top League schedule runs until early May, which cuts about two months into the 2020 NRL season.
