Queanbeyan Kangaroos (4) 30 defeated Woden Valley Rams (3) 20The Kangaroos have bounced back from a disappointing loss to Goulburn last week with an impressive 30-20 triumph over the Woden Valley Rams.
Jordan Macey starred for Queanbeyan registering a total of 22 points from three tries and five goals.
Whilst he is equally adept at fullback, five-eighth of halfback, Macey’s speed, footwork and ball-playing ability was put to good use at hooker with Woden struggling to contain his attacking spark around the ruck area.
Eighteen year old Jared McIlwrick was also impressive for Queanbeyan scoring a try in the win. McIlwrick, the brother of Canberra Raiders hooker Matt, has joined the Kangaroos after the Raiders SG Ball season finished.
The Rams showed plenty of heart in defeat however the loss now forces them from atop of the competition ladder.
