Canterbury skipper Michael Ennis is 48 hours away from joining the Cronulla Sharks unless the Bulldogs come up with a last-minute offer.
The inspirational hooker is using the bye weekend to weigh up his options and a possible club swap with Cronulla’s boom young hooker Michael Lichaa.
Ennis and his young family have lived in the Shire for several years and are keen to stay in the area.
They haven’t totally ruled out the Canberra Raiders after visiting the national capital during the week but the Sharks are now firm favourites.
