The week that was in Queanbeyan sport: Photo Gallery

DANIEL Vidot turning out for the Kangaroos, the Blues suffering a shock home loss to Goulburn and some of Queanbeyan’s most talented junior cricketers set their sights on the Indian subcontinent.

Once again there was nothing dull about the past week in Queanbeyan Sport.

This year the Kangaroos have failed to find the kind of form that took the club to its first premiership in 25 years last season.

But the Roos may have been given the boost they needed to kick-start their championship defence by the addition of Canberra Raiders outside back Daniel Vidot.

In his first game back from injury and in his first hit out for his new club, Vidot was far from his best in the Kangaroos 22-18 win over Woden last weekend.

But the strike centre’s combination with fellow former NRL star Aaron Gorrell can only improve as the 21-year-old becomes more familiar in his new surrounds.

Across town, it was a different result as the Blues went down 12-6 in a dour struggle at Seiffert Oval.

There’s no doubt the ladder leaders will want to move on from the defeat, their third of the season, as quickly as possible against Yass this weekend.
