Jack Wighton was brilliant but the Roosters should feel robbed over Clive Churchill Medal snub

The Clive Churchill Medal went to Jack Wighton and no one could begrudge the decision given the Raiders five-eighth’s amazing performance in the 14-8 grand final loss. But did a Roosters player deserve it more?

This was the second time in the past three Roosters premierships the award has gone to a member of the losing side.

In 2013 when Manly looked set to win the grand final, Daly Cherry-Evans was adjudged the best player on the field after 60 minutes — and rightly so.
