The NRL grand final will remain in Sydney during the $810m rebuild of ANZ Stadium following an announcement by NRL CEO Todd Greenberg on Wednesday.
The 2020 and 2021 season deciders will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground, with the 2022 grand final scheduled for the revamped Allianz Stadium.
From 2023 the game will return to ANZ Stadium following completion of works at that venue. The grand final is slated to be played in Sydney until at least 2046.
Speaking on Wednesday, Greenberg said the decision acknowledged the NSW Government's commitment to upgrading stadia while also ensuring the game did not incur a financial loss.
