Raiders Year in Review – Tom Learoyd-Lahrs

With the long off-season now upon us we’re going to take time to look at the Raiders players and see what sort of season you think they’ve had.

At the bottom of each section we’re encouraging fans to put down what they think the best moment was for each player and wish them good luck for the off-season.

Learoyd-Lahrs missed the end of the 2011 season with a bicep injury, however his form leading into that match against the Roosters in round 17 was some of the best during his time at the club so far.

After signing a contract extension at the start of the season Learoyd-Lahrs went into 2011 with high expectations of playing well for the Raiders and making the NSW team, however a facial injury suffered playing for Country saw him miss the first origin match and the subsequent series.

His efforts in his lone rep game of 2011 showed the rest of the NRL what he is capable of and before his bicep injury he was terrorising defences with his trademark hard running at the defensive line.

Coach David Furner will have some interesting choices to make in 2012 with Learoyd-Lahrs, as he decides whether to start the giant prop, or bring him from the bench as an impact player. With David Shillington, Dane Tilse and Brett White all with the club, it’s sure to be a very competitive pack for the Green Machine up front in 2012.
