Raiders sign on for Movember

The Canberra Raiders NRL Squad have decided to put the shaving cream and razors away for the next month, as they join the fight for Men's Health by participating in the annual Movember fundraising drive.

Senior Players Dane Tilse and Tom Learoyd-Lahrs have recruited the entire NRL squad for the month to see who can grow the best soup strainer, as the team looks to raise as much money and awareness as they can for the fight against prostate cancer and depression.

The Raiders have created their own team on the Movember Website www.movember.com.au and you can join their team or make a donation by simply searching for ‘Canberra Raiders'.

There are already 23 of your favourite Raiders signed up as part of the team with more to come over the next few days, so it's up to the fans to visit the website, make a donation and help this wonderful cause.

Raiders prop and Movember spokesman Dane Tilse said Movember is a fantastic way to help raise money for men's health and said it's also a chance for the team to come together early in the pre-season and start working together.

“Movember is a great way for people to help the fight against prostate cancer and depression and if it only takes us to grow some bad facial hair for a month than we're happy to get involved,” Tilse said. “We've been back for pre-season for just one day but we wanted to do something as a team straight away and Movember helps us do this while raising money for a great cause at the same time.”

Canberra Raiders Chairman John McIntyre and the Raiders board of directors have also dedicated the month to growing their Mo's and are encouraging members, fans and all lovers of the Raiders to get behind the Canberra Raiders efforts.
