The North Canberra Bears Minor Rugby League Club hosted an 'R U OK' Day across their round one home games, to raise money and awareness for mental healthand suicide prevention.
The club dedicated two MVP medals to the under 12's and under 15's matches in memory of Josh Clarke and Matt Schweitzer, who sadly passed away over the last few years.
Leesa Clarke (Josh's mother) presented the under 12's 'R U OK' MVP Josh Clarke Medal to Sioeli Hifo.
Josh was a former player who won his under 12's Grand Final with the Bears in 2008. Leesa and her daughters have now founded the 'I Got You' charity to raise money and awareness of suicide prevention.
The 'R U OK' MVP Matt Schweitzer medal was awarded to Mitch McPherson of the under 15's Bears.
Matt was a North Canberra Bears junior life member who sadly passed away a few years ago.
The club raised $1600 on the day and all proceeds went to the R U OK foundation.
