D-Day looms for Joel
8 November 2010, 11:28 am

Disgraced Canberra Raiders star Joel Monaghan will learn his fate on Tuesday when the club's board meets to discuss his future.

The board were due to meet on Monday but released a statement saying they were giving Monaghan extra time to meet with his manager Jim Banaghan who is on his way to Canberra.

Raiders chief executive Don Furner said the club's board would take into consideration the views and interests of the senior playing group when it meets.                                                                                                  The Raiders statement refuted reports that Monaghan has quit the club.

"He has not resigned from the club and the board has not yet determined an outcome on his future," Furner said.

Monaghan's NRL career has been hanging by a thread in the balance since lewd photographs of him in a simulated sex act with a dog circulated last week.

There have been reports Monaghan will ling English Super League club London Harlequins if he does not play with the Raiders in the NRL next year.

Wasn't he meant to be quitting?
