The English rugby league club Castleford say controversial former Canberra Raiders three-quarter Joel Monaghan is one of three centres they interested in signing.Monaghan wants to resurrect his career in England after quitting Canberra following publication of a compromising photograph on the internet.
Up to four Super League clubs, including Harlequins, are thought to be keen to take the 28-year-old who was in Australia's World Cup final team two years ago.
Castleford want a replacement for England international Michael Shenton, who has joined St Helens, and Australian James Evans, who announced his retirement after failing to recover from a groin injury.
Monaghan is set to leave Canberra this week before heading to England to start pre-season training alongside older brother Michael at Warrington.
