The Canberra Raiders are delighted to have their Major Sponsor Huawei join them on the jerseys of the NYC team for the remainder of their agreement with the club.
Sunday’s match against the Sharks at Toyota Stadium was the first time the Raiders NYC team has worn the new strip featuring the Huawei logo.
In an added bonus for the Raiders, Huawei will also be present on both the Harold Matthews and SG Ball teams next season to accompany the two top grades.
Raiders CEO Don Furner said having Huawei on the clubs junior strips is a huge boost for the club as a whole and said it shows their dedication to the sponsorship.
“Huawei have been a fantastic sponsor for us so far and to have this extra support so early into our agreement is a huge bonus for the club and we look forward to continuing our relationship,” Furner said. “Huawei have indicated to us that they are in this sponsorship to support a whole club approach, which includes supporting the club at a grass roots level.
“We have them officially signed until the end of the 2013 season and its moves like this which will allow the Raiders and Huawei to hopefully extend their relationship into the future.”
Furner said the exposure the Raiders NYC team gets through Fox Sports is vital for the clubs sponsors and reinforced the clubs relationship with The Cancer Support Group who have now finished their exposure on the clubs junior jerseys.
“One upside of not having as many free-to-air matches for the NRL team is the extra exposure the NYC team gets through Fox Sports and this gives us more exposure for our sponsors,” Furner said. “Although Huawei is now on all of the strips we still have The Cancer Support Group as the clubs number one charity and we will support them further in November when we hold our annual Golf Day.”
