Canberra Raiders five-eighth Josh McCrone said the Raiders will be fully focussed on the task at hand this Sunday evening when they take on the Knights in Newcastle and said thoughts of ladder position are not even a calculation for the team at the moment.
McCrone said the team was putting all their energy on getting a win on the road against Newcastle and said with a long season ahead it’s important for the team to build into the season and not get tied down with early results.
With two less than impressive performances in the first two rounds the Raiders bounced back against the Dragons last Sunday, but McCrone said the confidence the team had in their own ability had not been a factor in the inconsistent start to the year.
“I don’t think our confidence has been dinted too much, we’ve just been dropping too much ball in the first few rounds,” McCrone said. “We know we have the ability it’s just a matter of holding onto the footy.”
