THE Canberra Raiders will recall forward Joel Thompson from injury for Sunday's match against the Knights, but are preparing for Newcastle to bring back two star players of their own.
Thompson is set to replace Joe Picker on the Raiders' bench for the match at Hunter Stadium, having missed the past two games with a lingering shoulder injury, which he aggravated in the NRL All Stars game in February.
The Knights are set to also receive a boost, with captain Kurt Gidley and prop Willie Mason both likely to play after training on Saturday.
The pair missed Monday night's big win over the North Queensland Cowboys with calf injuries and had not been named to play the Raiders.
