Raiders coach takes aim at late hit on utility

Canberra Raiders under-20 coach Mick Mantelli has branded a vicious shoulder charge that left utility Matt Frawley with brain bruising as a ''pretty blatant and intentional'' act.

Mantelli is adamant Warriors player Viliami Kaveinga has been let off lightly, despite facing an eight-week suspension for a grade five shoulder charge after he was sent off during Saturday's match at Canberra Stadium.

The match was delayed for some time after Frawley was taken off on a medicab after he started convulsing following Kaveinga's late hit.

Frawley was taken to hospital for tests on Saturday night and was released on Sunday morning, but returned to hospital for further observation later that afternoon before being released again on Monday.

It is believed he will make a full recovery and won't suffer any lingering mental effects. The Raiders will take no chances with his health, ruling him out of football for at least four to six weeks.
