Qld U18 reps back for Sunday's NYC clash

Queensland under-18 representatives Andrew Niemoeller and Kieran Quabba will return to strengthen the North Queensland Cowboys NYC team against top-of-the-table Canberra on Sunday.

The forward duo were rested from Sunday’s match against Cronulla after playing for the Maroons against New South Wales at Suncorp Stadium last Wednesday and watched on as their Cowboys teammates broke through for a well-deserved first win since round three.

They’ve been named on the bench for the round 17 clash at Canberra Stadium with back-up hooker Chris Law and prop Damon Tauroa-Rauhihi omitted.

In the other change to the Cowboys lineup, Samsen O’Neill returns on the wing in place of rookie Conor Carey.

North Queensland jumped from 16th to 14th on the under-20s ladder by beating the Sharks 28-12, while Canberra are coming off back-to-back defeats against South Sydney and Wests Tigers.

However, they still have a one-point lead over Penrith and the Roosters.

Sunday’s match kicks off at 11.45am and will be televised live on Fox Sports 1.
