Canberra Raiders v St George Illawarra Dragons on Saturday at 5:30pm at WIN Stadium, Wollongong It’s the game that Canberra fans have pencilled in since a certain incident at the start of the year, but rather than seeking retribution from any individual the Raiders are more concerned with leaving WIN Stadium with the two competition points over their arch rivals the St George Illawarra Dragons.
Canberra’s 14-0 victory over the Eels last Saturday saw the Raiders fight their way back into the top eight however they have definitely not consolidated a spot for the finals.
The Raiders are sitting in 8th position and are one of four teams in a log-jam on 22 competition points in the lower half of the ladder. Adding further pressure to this precarious situation are fact that there are three sides tied up on 20 competition points below them.
This obviously entails that the Green Machine can ill afford to drop any of their remaining games. To assist them in this endeavour, the Raiders must amend one of the elements of their season that have let them down thus far; their away record.
Canberra has won just one away match all year, against the Storm in round eight.
