Queanbeyan Blues (1) 42 defeated Tuggeranong Bushrangers (4) 30 at Seiffert Oval

The Queanbeyan Blues have secured the TTM Canberra Raiders Cup minor premiership with a twelve point win over the Tuggeranong Bushrangers at home.

Queanbeyan outscored Tuggeranong seven tries to five with Tyler Stevens collecting another double and the competition’s leading point scorer Craig Wilkinson adding 18 points to his season tally through seven goals and one try.

The Blues enjoyed a solid first half lead however Coach Simon Woolford will be worried by the 30 points that the Bushrangers put on in the second half, particularly as the Blues are destined to face the second placed Kangaroos in the first round of semi-finals this weekend.

Raiders NYC hooker Josh Mitchell played a starring role for Tuggeranong in the second half scoring a hat-trick of tries and proving a constant threat out of dummy half.

Both sides will progress through to the semi-finals with the Blues set to take on cross-town rivals the Kangaroos on Sunday at 3:00pm at Seiffert Oval and Tuggeranong to face reigning premiers the Belconnen United Scholars on Sunday at 3:00pm at Raiders Belconnen.
