Aside from their physiques and hairstyles the similarities between Brenko and Edrick Lee are quite striking; both are highly talented centres, both have made a home in the Nation’s Capital since migrating from Brisbane and both have starred for Queensland in the Under 20s State of Origin.
Brenko unashamedly looks up to his elder cousin and turns to Edrick on a regular basis. Whilst they have shared a similar path coming through the ranks of the Raiders, Brenko aims to differentiate himself in one aspect to Edrick though, by winning the 2013 NYC Grand Final.
Last year, Edrick starred for the Raiders under 20s side in the centres, leading them all the way to the Grand Final before they went down in disappointing fashion to a red-hot Wests Tigers outfit in the decider.
“We’re both pretty similar in our journeys,” Brenko said. “He’s someone that I really look up to as a role model beside my dad. He’s a guy that I want to be like actually.
