Melbourne Storm centre Will Chambers was lucky to escape with only a three-match suspension for his dangerous crusher tackle on Parramatta Eels star Jarryd Hayne, according to Peter Sterling.

Chambers has already pleaded guilty to the incident from Friday night’s game and won’t be available for selection again until the second week of the NRL’s finals series.

Sterling was scathing of the incident during Nine’s coverage of the match, claiming there was intent in the tackle, and maintained his stance in an exclusive video for Wide World of Sports on Monday.
