Penrith Panthers star Josh Mansour is nearing a return to the footy field after a long stint on the sidelines with a horrific facial fracture, and he's got revenge on the mind.

Mansour was in top form when in round six he collided with the knee of Gold Coast's Anthony Don while going up for a bomb during the game. The incident left him with a serious facial fracture, but he says he was "grateful".

"I was grateful...worst case scenario I would have lost my eye," Mansour told Wide World of Sports.
