Thursday night’s clash against the Cronulla Sharks at Shark Park will provide a real test for the new St George-Illawarra halves pairing of Ben Hunt and Gareth Widdop.

They were terrific in their round one victory over the Broncos, however, I sense this week’s match will represent a much greater challenge.

The Dragons were superb in their season opening match. The thing that really struck me about the Dragons’ performance was just how effortless it looked.

They showed a lot of composure and control. They never looked frantic or flustered. They rolled through their sets of six with a minimum of fuss. Without taking too many risks and all, they were able to keep the scoreboard ticking over to run out convincing winners 34-12, against a Brisbane team which was totally outplayed by a better team.
