Cronulla Sharks defeat Canberra Raiders
The Cronulla Sharks have beaten the Canberra Raiders 26 points to 12 tonight in the NRL match at Toyota Stadium.
In the first half the Sharks looked the better of the two sides mostly due to some simple Canberra mistakes.
In a moment that is sure to bite Sharks fans, Blake Ferguson scored the Raiders' first after scoping up a loose Cronulla pass.
He would turn from hero to villain however after failing to clean up a kick which lead to the next Sharks try.
The Raiders hit back before half time with a great mark and put down from Jarrod Croker off a McCrone kick.
Canberra were well in the game at half time but needed to stop the silly errors and complete their sets.
After half time the game went back and forth in an arm wrestle with the Sharks having a slight territorial advantage after the break.
In what is surely the worst video refereeing decision of the season, the Sharks were awarded a try when it was clearly shown that the ball never touched the ground and rolled over hands instead.
It was a costly call against the Raiders, with the Sharks going on to score 14 unanswered points in the second half through some good defence.
To add to the loss the Raiders added to their horror injury toll, with young star Josh Papalii going down with a groin injury, and winger Reece
Robinson suffering a suspected sprained ankle.Source: RNA News
