Congratulations to the RNA Raiders Player Of The Year for 2013, Shaun Fensom!
The fans of the Green Machine have spoken
and voted workhorse and tackling machine, Shaun Fensom, as the very worthy winner of the 2013 RNA Player Of The Year Award.
As has seemingly become a tradition, the 2013 award was an extremely close affair, with Fensom only winning the award by one single vote over the runner up, Jarrod Croker. This follows on from the 2011 award which was decided by a tie-breaker
, and the 2012 award which was decided by a single vote
Shaun Fensom was his typical and reliable self in 2013, making the most tackles of any Raider with 884. Fensom also excelled in attack making 21 offloads and 21 tackle busts.
A future NSW Origin representative (let's be honest, he should have been picked already!), Fensom will most likely play his 100th game of NRL for the Raiders in 2014. It is hard to believe that such an exceptional and mature player has only played 84 games in his NRL career so far.
As the perfect replacement at lock for the irreplaceable Alan Tongue, the future of the Raiders is very bright when we have great leaders like Fensom in our side.Source:
