Greg Prichard writes: The Broncos traditionally face a tough time during the representative period, and they will be without Darren Lockyer, Sam Thaiday, Ben Hannant, Jharal Yow Yeh and Corey Parker for this match due to State of Origin commitments. Plus, star centre Justin Hodges is still out injured. Broncos coach Anthony Griffin has been standing down his stars in games that quickly follow rep games they have played in, and the Broncos have lost on each of the two occasions he has done that. Now he has no choice but to be without them.

It should be a great opportunity for the Raiders to get a valuable two points, but there is no guarantee they will get the formula right. The Raiders have been a massive disappointment this season, winning their first game easily but then losing eight in a row. They rebounded to win their next two and looked like making it three straight when they established a 22-0 lead against the Cowboys last weekend, but they collapsed to be beaten 40-24. As soon as star fullback Josh Dugan went off injured, things went pear-shaped for them in that game. Dugan is out for this game.
