White back to face Tigers

The Canberra Raiders will welcome back enforcer Brett White to the 17, for the Raiders first away match of the season against the Wests Tigers on Saturday night at Campbelltown Stadium.

White returns from a one week suspension for lifting the knees against Cronulla, with Josh Miller shifting to 18th man to make way for the former international.

Josh Dugan has not been named for the Raiders despite training with the squad on Monday afternoon, with a decision to be made on his availability to follow training sessions later in the week.

Raiders Assistant Coach Quentin Pongia said White will be raring to go against the Tigers and said the reshuffle would give the Raiders some more strength from the bench.

“Whitey is an experienced campaigner and he's keen to get out on the field after missing the week through suspension,” Pongia said. “He's a great competitor and to have his experience coming from the bench gives us some more punch up the middle.”

Pongia said Josh Dugan could still be a late possibility for the team for Saturday night, but medical staff would need to asses him following training sessions later in the week.

“Josh trained on Monday but he'll need to get through a couple more sessions before we can give him the opportunity to take the field,” he said. “If he doesn't come through these runs than we have a more than capable replacement in David Milne.”
