Melbourne Storm winger Sisa Waqa has assured the Canberra Raiders he will not renege on his deal amid fresh poaching threats from Japan and England.
The former Fijian SWAT team member has become one of the most sought-after wingers in the NRL. Aside from three French clubs, rugby outfits in Japan and England have also expressed interest in the past month.
Raiders bosses were entitled to be nervous after being scarred in recent times by James Tedesco, Kevin Proctor, Josh Mansour and Anthony Milford all reneging on verbal agreements.
But Waqa insists he is committed to the Green Machine, whose two-year deal will help him provide money for brothers Gaby and Iosa, who are currently in a Fijian jail for armed robbery offences.
