Buy a pink scarf this weekend and Support the McGrath Foundation

The Canberra Raiders are calling on their supporters to buy a pink scarf at this weekend’s home match against the Parramatta Eels at Canberra Stadium, to help raise money for the McGrath Foundation.

The Foundation is the official charity of the NRL’s Women in League round and for just $10 you can purchase a pink scarf at Canberra Stadium and help the foundation raise money to fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses in community’s right across Australia, as well as increasing breast awareness in younger women.

Raiders halves Josh McCrone and Sam Williams modelled the Raiders new look Pink Strip which they’ll be wearing on Saturday and took time to get a photo with the kit and McGrath Foundation scarves with McGrath Breast Care Nurse at Canberra Hospital, Brenda Moules.

Williams said the players have gotten right behind the Women in League round and said buying a pink scarf on Saturday is another way you can show your support for the round and also help raise money for a great cause.

“The players are looking forward to the weekend and playing in the new strip so hopefully plenty of people come along and support the Women in League Round,” Williams said. “If you come along to the game and buy a scarf you’re also supporting the McGrath foundation which does a great job in raising money to fund nurses like Brenda.”

The McGrath Foundation’s Tracy Bevan couldn’t be prouder to be involved in the Harvey Norman Women in League Round and to have the Canberra Raiders support the Foundation for the second year running.
“It’s amazing the support we’ve received already this year, with thousands of socks purchased by junior rugby league players keen to pink up and show their support for the McGrath Foundation.

“With $120,000 raised last year, we’re hoping NRL fans will be even more generous and help us expand our network of 62 McGrath Breast Care Nurses,” Tracy said.
