South Sydney coach Wayne Bennett is back in Canberra where his career started more than 30 years ago with plans to derail the Raiders’ run to the grand final.Perhaps memories of a $5,000 splurge to stop spies from tapping into his walkie talkie will be on his mind.
Back in 1987 he, alongside Don Furner, coached the Raiders to the grand final opposite Manly, before taking a job at Brisbane the following year where he won six premierships.
